America x Reader: My Secret Identity chapter II: Two Sketchy Flatmates

Chapter I: How It All Started: fav.me/d8wmsse

~~~~~~
Alfred’s goofy grin faded the second he pressed the button that unlocked the entrance where his new flatmate ___ waited as he prayed that he wouldn’t get found out.
He was quite good at acting, so that wouldn’t really be a problem. The problem would be the not coming home at night, constant tiredness and the different wounds he had a tendansy to get all the time.
He sighed again as he heard the elevator’s usual ’ding’ noise that meant that ___ would be ringing the bell any second now.
He took a deep breath and put on his usual goofy grin as he mentally reminded himself of his, already scripted, welcome speech.
The bell was heard and he quickly walked up to the door and then waited three seconds – he didn’t want to seem too enthusiastic – efore he slammed the door open, terrefying poor ___, and gave her a huge hug.
”Dudette! I’m soooooo happy to meet you!” He half-shouted gleefully as he continued to hug ___ half to death.
”N-nice to meet you too, Alfred, but could you please stop suffocating me, please?” ___ managed to squeak through Alfreds suffocation attempts.
Alfred quickly let her go and then laughed apologetic as he rubbed the back of his head. ”Hehe… Sorry.”
___ smiled a bit. ”No problem. Thought that’s quite some streangth, do you gym or something?”
Alfred suddenly got a face that, to ___, screamed ’well, shit’, but she might just have been imagening things.
”Haha, why of course! I gym all the time!” Alfred replied with a, quite suspicious, high-pitched voice as he continued to laugh. ”Well, anyways, would you like to see the apartment? Where’s your stuff, by the way; do you need any help carrying it?” He continued as he grabbed her arm and then looked around for her luggage.
”Ah, the taxidriver’s gonna bring it later.” ___ replied.
”Ah, I see! Let’s go, then!” Alfred said as he dragged ___ inside their apartment and then slammed the door shut behind them.
___ sighed mentally. ’I sure hope that this whole flatmate idea wasn’t a mistake… But he seems a bit dense so he’ll most likely not bust me… Hopefully.’ She thought as she sent Alfred a hoping look in secret.
’I really hope this wasn’t a mistake…’
~~
”… And this is your bedroom.” Alfred finished after showing ___ the small, but surprisinly spacious, apartment. ”Hope you think everything is ok.” He continued as ___ looked around the room. It was a quite large room with cream walls and dark wooden floors. It had a large window with moss green curtains in front of it so that the sun could be kept out on early mornings. It was furnished with a wooden bed along with a matching wodden nightstand. The desk, chair and bookshelf was in the same wooden material, and there was a door that ___ assumed led to a walk-in-closet. In one of the corners sat a comfy-looking armchair in the same moss-green colour as the curtains and the bed clothing.
”Do you like it?” Alfred asked nervously after a long silence where ___ had just admired the room.
___ looked back to Alfred. ”Yes, it’s perfect.” She replied with a smile as she put her bag on the, already made, bed.
Alfred let out a releaved sigh. ”Great! I’ll let you unpack some of your things, I think I just heard the doorbell so your stuff is probably here now. I’ll make something to eat so we can get to know eachother a little more, okay?”
___ smiled. ”Okay.”
”Great! I’ll shout when the food’s ready.” Alfred continued as he began to close the door after him.
”Yeah.” ___ said.
As soon as the door shut closed and she heard Alfred’s footsteps leave she quickly went over to her bag, opened it and emptyed it on her bed.
A package the size of a baseball fell out along with today’s newspaper and some other things. ___ carefully picked up the neatly wrapped package and started to open it. Inside was a beautiful red stone.
___ marveled at it’s beauty for a while before she put it back in it’s package. Where would she hide it? It was her most prized possession, so she wanted to keep it close to her. But on the same time she didn’t want Alfred to find it.
After some contemplation she decided that it was too big to put under the matress; she felt a but like The Princess and The Pea so she had to find another hiding spot.
She walked back and forth on the floor; listening carefully after a squeak. When she heard one she sat down on the floor and started bending the floorboard until it opened. Underneath was a small space between the floorboard, but she managed to fit the package in it.
She then carefully placed the floorboard back and took a few steps back to see if you’d notice that there was sometjing hidden under it. You couldn’t.
___ smiled to herself as she stood there, admiring her invisable work, when Alfred’s voice suddenly was heard.
”LUNCH IS READY, DUDETTE!” He shouted, quite loudly, might I add.
”Yeah, coming!” ___ replied as she quickly put her things back in her bag and went out the door to her room.
’I think I’ll enjoy it here’ She thought to herself as she walked to the kitchen. ’I think this’ll be great.’
~~
When Alfred closed the door to ___ room he sighed quietly to himself. She hadn’t understood he was acting, right? No… She seemed oblivious to say the least. He slowly walked to the kitchen. She wouldn’t suspect a thing, he had already decided that. He’d come up with excuses to why he did what he did. Be it anything.
Gone all night? Hooked up with a french stripper named jaquline.
Sleep all day? Cought the swine flu.
Scratches all over? Got in a fist/claw fight with a street cat over a burger.
Excessive hunger? Cought a rare decease that causes extreme hunger.
He had excuses for anything
There’d be no problem at all! Or at least that’s what he told himself. Deep down he was still worried that it was a bad idea to get himself a flatmate. But that was the only thing he could think of as a guise. A flatmate who could woe for him whenever he needed  it was a great idea in theory. But it could easily turn on him and become a total disaster.
He quickly set aside that thought as he opened his fridge and took out the leftovers from last night and put them in the microwave. Three minutes later the microwave dinged and he took the burgers out.
After putting the burgers together he called for ___. ”LUNCH IS READY, DUDETTE!”
’This is gonna work out fine.’ Alfred continued to try and convince himself in his mind one last time on the same time as ___ told herself the very same thing on her way to the kitchen.
’Just fine.’
But, somehow, they both already knew that this was a bad idea altogether…
To be continued...
